Ingredients
- 1 cup besan.
- 1/4 Cup finely chopped onions.
- 1/4 cup finely chopped tomatoes.
- 1/4 cup finely chopped bell peppers.
- 2 green chilies,finely chopped.
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder.
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder.
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder.
- Salt to taste.
- Water as needed.
- Oil for cooking.
- Fresh coriander leaves.
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl,add besan, chopped onions, tomatoes,bell pepper,green chilies,turmeric powder,cumin powder,red chili powder, and salt, mix it well.
- Gradually add water to the besan mixture while stirring continuously, until a smooth batter-like consistency is achieved. The batter should not be too thick or too thin.
- Heat a non-stick pan or tawa over medium heat and grease it with a little oil.
- Pour a ladleful of the besan batter onto the pan and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin pancake like shape.
- Drizzle a few drops of oil around the edges of the cheela and cook for a few minutes until the bottom side turns golden brown.
- Flip the cheela and cook the other side until it is cooked through and lightly browned.
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter to make more cheelas.
- Garnish the besan cheelas with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with chutney or yogurt.
